Jolie struck gold again when she snagged the highly coveted role of Lara Croft in 2001's Lara Croft: Tomb Raider film, based on the widely popular video game. Though the adventure thriller wasn't well-received by critics, the film grossed $48.2 million at the box office, quickly securing her reputation as an international blockbuster star and sex symbol. "Those fans are expecting that they are going to see a character they know so well, this character they love," she said of playing the action heroine. "So you have a lot to live up to, and there's always the anxiety of not being able to pull that off. What you end up doing is working your butt off. That's just something that you can't fake."
