The Devil Tells Oprah to Lose Weight

Shut up, Anna Wintour!

Get this -- the editor of Vogue -- who The Devil Wears Prada is supposedly about (Anna being the devil) -- told Oprah Winfrey in 1998 that she should lose 20 pounds before being on the cover of the mag.

"It was a very gentle suggestion," the prickly editor told 60 Minutes in an unaired segment. "I went to Chicago to visit Oprah, and I suggested that it might be an idea that she lose a little bit of weight. I said simply that you might feel more comfortable. She was a trooper!

Anna says that Oprah didn't bash her over the head, like I would have done, instead she put herself on a strict eating plan.

"She totally welcomed the idea, and she went on a very stringent diet," Anna said. "And it was one of our most successful covers ever."

Right -- and I'm sure it was because Ops lost that 20 lbs that the issue sold so many copies. Ugh -- I hate this woman. Oprah sells because people look up to her -- no matter what size she is. Anna was definitely absent the day they taught that beauty comes from the inside.
