Anne Hathaway, 28, will be the first to admit that getting into her Catwoman suit, for her role as the villain in the upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises, is not as easy as slipping on a pair of sweat pants. The One Day actress, who says she has never been a fan of exercise, has had to push herself to new limits to get her already-svelte body into feline-ready shape.
"Right now, I'm, like, living on kale and dust," she joked about her food intake on a recent episode of Chelsea Lately. "The catsuit's unforgiving, man," says Hathaway, adding, "It takes three of us [to get me into it]." Along with this group effort, Hathaway told iVillage the rest of her secrets to success for helping her shimmy into her skin-tight suit for the Dark Knight role: "Hard work, hard work, hard work, a wing and a prayer...hard work."
What kind of "hard work?" Well, she mentioned to Lately that she's worked Bikram yoga into her routine, but she's still trying to figure out what works for her.
"I've never really gotten over the hump," she admitted to Handler. "There's a workout hump where you're so weak that you hate everything, everything is so painful and you look like an idiot."
Hathaway also says that she has been having a rough time keeping up with some of her fitness club's other celebrity clientele.
"The gym where I work out, I was literally working out next to a [then] pregnant Jessica Alba and she could do more push-ups than I could," joked the actress. (Jessica Alba gave birth to her second daughter Haven on Aug. 13 -- click here to check out her exclusive blog series for iVillage!)
We're sure that all of Hathaway's sweat sessions will pay off -- we just hope she's eating a little more than she's admitting to!
