Ever since Anne Hathaway donned the Catwoman suit for her butt-kicking role in director Christopher Nolan's eagerly anticipated Batman threequel The Dark Knight Rises, she's been dogged day and night by paparazzi hoping to get a plot-spoiling photo or video from the shoot. Paparazzi attention has been so intense, in fact, that Hathaway was inspired to write a rap about it, which she enthusiastically performed for Conan O'Brien on Tuesday night's episode of Conan. Watch it below!
O'Brien opened up the topic asking her about the tabloid photographers harassing the Dark Knight shoot. Hathaway replied, "With all the stuff that's been going on with Batman, the paparazzi attention's been a little intense, so I actually wrote a rap song about it."
After jokingly introducing her song by saying, "It's in the style of Lil Wayne," Hathaway launched into a no-holds-barred rendition of it. Rasping out the catchy "Pop-Pop-Pop-Paparazzi" refrain in a guttural voice that certainly was reminiscent of Lil Wayne, Hathaway totally committed, throwing in some hilarious hand gestures for emphasis. Though the audience didn't seem to know what to make of it at first, they totally succumbed eventually, responding with screams of laughter.
At one point, Hathaway even imagined what a paparazzo might say to her: "Don't act so hotsy-totsy, bitch. I know that you from JERSEY!"
Hathaway's next film, the romantic comedy One Day (also starring Jim Sturgess), opens on August 19. No word yet one when she drop her debut rap album.
