Apple Butter Oatmeal

When regular oatmeal seems too run-of-the-mill, add slow-cooked apple butter to naturally sweeten and spice up the mix. Sure, you can have an extra spoonful to whet your appetite while the oatmeal cooks!

Bring the oats and 1 cup milk to a simmer over medium heat in a 2-quart saucepan. Cook for 7-9 minutes, stirring frequently, until the oats are tender and have absorbed most of the milk. Add the extra 1/4 cup milk if the oatmeal is looking too dry and sticky.
