| 1 cup rolled oats (not quick oats) | 1/3 - 1/2 cup apple butter | |
| 1 1/4 cups milk |
Bring the oats and 1 cup milk to a simmer over medium heat in a 2-quart saucepan. Cook for 7-9 minutes, stirring frequently, until the oats are tender and have absorbed most of the milk. Add the extra 1/4 cup milk if the oatmeal is looking too dry and sticky.
Stir in the apple butter, adding more or less to taste, and serve immediately.
