    1 cup rolled oats 5 - 6 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and roughly chopped
    1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    8 tablespoon cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    Pinch of salt 1 tablespoon lemon juice

      Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a deep-dish pie pan or 8x8 baking dish with butter

      Toss your apples with the granulated sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice and spread in the bottom of your prepared pan

      Using a food processor, grind the oats slightly. Add the brown sugar, about 6 tablespoons of the butter and salt and pulse to combine. Don't overgrind this mixture- you want to leave visible chunks of butter. Spread this mixture over the apples, then dot with remaining butter.

      Bake the crisp 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are tender and then the topping is golden.
