| 1 cup rolled oats | 6 Granny Smith apples | |
| 1 cup brown sugar | 1/2 cup granulated sugar | |
| 1/4 teaspoon salt | 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon | |
| 8 tablespoon cold unsalted butter | 1 tablespoon lemon juice |
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a deep dish pie plate with butter. Peel, core and chop your apples.
In a large bowl, toss the apples with the granulated sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice, then spread in the bottom of your prepared pie dish.
Using a food processor, combine the rolled oats, brown sugar, salt and 6 tablespoons of the butter, being careful not to overprocess. You want their to be visible chunks of butter remaining. Spread this mixture over the apples and dot with the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
Bake your crisp 20-30 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the top is golden brown.
