Cooper, 36, and Aniston, 42, have been spotted getting cozy on several occasions, most notably at an Italian restaurant in 2009 after Aniston's breakup with John Mayer. Their flirtations never lasted for long -- or so it seemed. Is it possible that they were harboring a secret flame all this time?
According to People, Cooper got back in touch with Aniston shortly after his march split from Renee Zellweger.
"In the past few weeks, they have stayed in contact," says the magazine's source.
And Aniston, it seems, may be game.
"Jen always had a soft spot for Bradley, and she thinks he is very attractive and charming," the source continues. "Jen appreciates that Bradley is low-key, loves dogs and is focused on his movie career. They have a lot in common."
Like being the most eligible bachelor and bachelorette in Hollywood, for example? Cooper and Aniston do seem to share that same sort of laid-back energy, not to mention an affinity for romantic comedies. It's actually incredible that no Hollywood producer has pushed them together in a movie yet -- with the exception of He's Just Not That into You, for which the two actors shared a poster but no screen time.
This week, Aniston told the UK's Red magazine that she was tempted to run off with George Clooney just to end speculation about her love life. But given that Clooney is taken, Cooper seems like a fine choice -- and maybe it could actually blossom into the real deal. To quote their last two movie titles, we think they should "just go with it," because the possibilities are "limitless!"
