Is Miley Cyrus making fun of Taylor Swift's heartache? On Tuesday, Miley tweeted a photo of herself in bed with a life-sized cardboard Harry Styles cut-out -- just days after Swift reportedly split with the One Direction singer. Was she dissing Taylor, or just being silly?
The photo is one of several Miley posted while checking out the One Direction memorabilia collection in her little sister Noah's room. ("This might be the creepiest thing I've ever seen," she wrote about a Harry bobble-head doll.) While the more scandalous photo was presented without a caption, Cyrus quickly commented that it was all in fun. "In no way do I want Harry," she tweeted. "No offense. I'm sure that'll be a story now 2. I'm happily engaged. Just got saucy with a cardboard cut out."
Okay, but still: aren't Miley and Taylor supposed to be friends? They sang a duet of Swift's "Fifteen" at the 2009 Grammys, and were spotted hanging out at a music studio together (along with Taylor's BFF Selena Gomez) in November. Moreover, just last week, Cyrus posted a photo of herself, Swift and Katy Perry clowning around at a 2009 event.
However, tension between the two young singers has been suggested before. In December, E! News editor Ken Baker tweeted an infographic that suggested Taylor was a "slut" and Miley was not, based on the number of guys they'd dated in the past three years. Real nice, huh? But Miley didn't seem to mind the insinuations about her pal.
"Haha :) this made laugh. thanks for making me smile I needed it," she tweeted in response. "People are idiots and call me a SLUT when I am engaged at 20 cuz [sic] I'm madly in love with ONE man. Just happy someone admitted it."
She backpedaled a little bit when Baker prodded her about the "tweet heat" between herself and Taylor. "There is no tweet heat! Don't go trying to make this look like I started any kinda drama," she replied. "I laughed because I know."
Looks to us like a frenemy situation. Think Taylor will write a song about the girl who done her wrong?
