Despite their ongoing divorce proceedings, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver have been seemingly amicable toward each other in the press. But on Sunday, the former California governor was seen sporting a tongue-in-cheek "I Survived Maria" T-shirt in public. Is their split turning nasty?
According to TMZ, the famous philanderer, who recently turned 64, was spotted riding his bike around Santa Monica, Calif., in a white tee that says "It's Time" on the front and "I Survived Maria 1977-2010" on the back.
At first glance, it looks like a cruel joke on the part of the adulterous actor-turned-politician, who in May admitted to fathering a son with a family housekeeper.
But TMZ reports that the T-shirt was actually part of a playful parting gift from Maria's First Lady of California staff to Arnold and his gubernatorial staff. The Terminator and his people received the shirts -- that originally read "2007 - 2010" -- during a farewell party in 2010. And Schwarzenegger's shirt reportedly already had the 2007 crossed out and replaced with 1977 (the year he started dating Shriver) when he received it.
Little did the jokesters know how the meaning would change just a few months later!
Given the novelty tee's original intent, is it distasteful for Schwarzenegger to wear it now? You decide.
