According to a rep for Oprah Winfrey's school for girls in South Africa, an arrest of a 27-year-old employee has been made in connection with allegations of physical and mental abuse. The name of the suspect has not been disclosed, but the matron will appear in court on Monday. Oprah, who had been abused as a child, was said to be horrified by the claims of misconduct at her school. "Nothing is more serious or devastating to me than an allegation of misconduct by an adult against any girl at the Academy," she told Usmagazine.com in a statement. "I will do everything within my power to ensure their safety and well-being." The talk show mogul flew to South Africa to personally apologize to the students and their parents, saying, "I've disappointed you. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." The investigation continues, as Oprah has hired her own people to dig, as well as having South African police and the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit who are on the case.
