'Arrested Development'...The Movie!

Fox

Good news for Arrested Development fans!

We are one step closer to actually seeing George Michael, Tobias, Lindsay and Buster on the big screen.

Creator Mitchell Hurwitz and co-executive producer James Vallely confirmed they are working on the screenplay for the Arrested Development movie.

Fans of the show have crossed their fingers in hopes the Fox comedy would be developed into a feature-length film since the show was canceled in 2006.

In the series finale, Ron Howard, who served as narrator and executive producer, listens to a pitch from Maeby about a television series on the Bluth family. Howard, who plays himself in the episode, hints maybe the idea would be best served as a movie.

There have been many rumors over the last couple of years about whether everyone from the series would sign on to do the movie.

The show catapulted the careers of Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, and Michael Cera, who will have to make time in their busy Hollywood schedules in order to film.

Hurwitz, who will also serve as director, didn’t want to start a script until he knew all of the stars from the show were signing on to do the film.
