Singer Ashanti's nightmarish ordeal with a stalker is now over. The Grammy-winning R&B star and her mother, Tina Douglas, were victimized by lewd text messages (including what prosecutors labeled "self-created pornography") from alleged stalker Devar Hurd, according to the New York Daily News.

Yesterday, Supreme Court justice Thomas Farber ordered Hurd to serve two years in prison at New York's Rikers Island for harassing the two women. Hurd, 31, who "believed that Ashanti was in love with him" after the two briefly locked eyes at a Chicago concert. "Yes, I've sent some adult text messages, for adults only. My intent was not to harm," he said. "I only wish the best for her and her career."

Hurd's disturbing behavior prompted the judge to tell him, "Mr. Hurd, I realize that you don't want to hear this, but it's obvious to me that you need help." Farber also ruled that Hurd's license to carry a semi-automatic weapon be revoked.
