Ashley Greene is known for starring in The Twilight Saga, for formerly dating Joe Jonas (they split in March) and for being an all-around sweetheart -- as she shows off in November's Allure. In the interview, the 24-year-old actress opens up about her 2009 nude photo scandal, her alleged feud with Demi Lovato (another of Joe Jonas' exes) and becoming famous with Robert Pattinson.
But first, the nude photo scandal. When naked pics of the actress showed up online in 2009, she was mortified -- but she says her very understanding family helped her get through the tough time. As Ashley tells Allure, one of her relatives even consoled her by saying, "Ashley, everyone does it. You're just famous."
But her mother wasn't as understanding about Greene's stint of heavy clubbing during that time. The actress admits that back then she put on some weight and was photographed leaving clubs a lot, and her mother reminded her that that's not all she should want to be known for.
As for that alleged feud with Lovato, Greene says it's all water under the bridge. "I'm really happy that she's doing well," Greene says about Lovato, who has battled bulimia and bipolar disorder (among other things). "She and I never had a problem with each other, but, you know, it doesn't go away... Jen Aniston still gets asked about Angelina Jolie."
As it turns out, Greene is very, very on the market these days -- though she does have her eye on a few guys.
"I go through stages," she says of the men she is interested in. "Randomly, I'll be attracted to a crazy rocker with tattoos. And I find that I'm extremely attracted to ambition and wit. If it was appropriate to date Michael Sheen, I would, but he and his girlfriend (Rachel McAdams) are so cute."
Since she and Jonas split, Greene has been attached to everyone from her Twilight costar Jackson Rathbone to Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane. "Seth and I are friends, and he texts me: 'I didn't know that not only were we dating, but we have since been confirmed to not be dating,'" Greene says. "I can assure you that we're not."
Another person who Greene never stops being asked about is her hunky costar, Robert Pattinson. She shares that R-Pattz is just as awkward in real life as he is in his interviews.
"Rob. Oh, Rob. He's very endearing, but you've seen his interviews," she smiles. "He's like, 'Ah, I don't know.... Oh, God,'" Greene bumbles in imitation.
But despite his humorous personality, Greene says Pattinson is a "phenomenal actor" and is glad that the two of them went from relative unknowns to worldwide superstars together.
"All of us essentially were unknown. So everyone kind of went through this crazy whirlwind (together),'" Greene says. "It was really nice to be able to confide in people who were going through the exact same thing."
