There's a new, ridiculous reality show in the works, and Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore are the desired first guests. The producer Mickey Stern is looking to develop a series called Divorce Hotel, based around an actual hotel in the Netherlands where a couple can get a quickie divorce over the course of a three-day stay, while enjoying five-star accommodations.
The service that the Divorce Hotel provides -- assembling attorneys, mediators and counselors to get the process over with quickly -- is going to be offered at several luxury hotels in the U.S. starting this spring. Stern plans to launch the show chronicling these whirlwind divorces some time within the next year. And in light of Kutcher and Moore's rumored troubles, he thinks they'd make perfect guests.
"Ashton and Demi have all the issues that the ideal couple for this situation would have," he told the New York Post. "They came in to the marriage, each with their own assets. There were no children. And, clearly, they want to remain amicable on some level and to do this in as efficient a manner as possible."
The Post obtained a copy of the invitation that the Divorce Hotel's managing director, Jim Halfens, sent the couple. "I am confident we can help you best navigate this turbulent time and move on to the next step in each of your lives," he wrote.
As for "the turbulent time" that he's referring to, Kutcher and Moore have been publicly quiet about their alleged marital problems. But based on this video message that Kutcher released yesterday, the Two and a Half Men actor probably didn't take kindly to the insinuation that his marriage was over. Fat chance these two would ever agree to such an egregious show, anyway. Sadly, though, there are probably several C-list celebs who will.
