Get ready for the phrase "Am I being punk'd?" to re-enter your vocabulary! As rumored for over a year now, Ashton Kutcher is officially bringing back his 2003-2007 hidden-camera prank series for a new generation. Entertainment Weekly reports that 33-year-old Kutcher, the creator of the original hit series, will return as executive producer -- but probably not the host.
So who will fill the Two and a Half Men star's seat in the hidden-camera van? Earlier reports claimed that Justin Bieber was in negotiations to host Punk'd's new incarnation. A notorious prankster himself, the Biebs seems like he'd be a perfect fit. However, he's an awfully busy guy -- which may be why, according to Access Hollywood, a different celeb will actually host the show each week.
As curious as we are about the new Punk'd host, we're having even more fun speculating about the show's new victims. Anybody who takes themself very seriously is always a good target, so that would put Kanye West, Lea Michele, Kim Kardashian and Lady Gaga in the crosshairs. Miley Cyrus and Paula Abdul would be fun. The cast of Jersey Shore would be a natural fit, but is it actually possible to embarrass Snooki? And then there's the rumored target of the first episode: sweet little Taylor Swift!
MTV has yet to confirm any details about the show, but will be revealing the host of Punk'd 2.0 during next week's live New Year's Eve party special. And while we don't know if Ashton will be there -- wouldn't it be amazing if he showed up to reveal that his divorce was the new show's first prank?
