Ashton Kutcher may have been hanging out with supermodels in Brazil when Demi Moore was rushed to the hospital, but a friend says that Demi is still very much on Ashton's mind.
"Ashton is deeply concerned for Demi," a source close to the couple tells People. "He still cares about her and wants the best for her. But their marriage is ending and they are both moving on with their lives."
Fans have been wondering about the silence from Kutcher, who has not mentioned Moore on his Twitter page, preferring to post photos of himself having fun in exotic places. But the source points out that Ashton was in Brazil for work (modeling for a Brazilian fashion brand), not relaxation, when he learned about Moore's health scare on Monday night. Kutcher is now reportedly headed back to Los Angeles, where he'll be returning to the Two and a Half Men set on Monday.
Demi Moore's team has not released any specific information on why the actress was hospitalized, beyond the official explanation of "exhaustion." TMZ is reporting that she had a seizure after inhaling a dangerous amount of nitrous oxide in the form of whipped cream canisters, or "whip-its." Another gossip website, RadarOnline, claims that she collapsed because she's been starving herself and taking Adderall.
"The pills and starvation destroyed Demi and this has been a problem for about a year," says RadarOnline's source. "She's constantly jacked up on Adderall and combining that with not eating accounts for her loopy behavior and anorexic body frame. She literally refuses to eat any food."
More clues may be revealed on Friday, when the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office releases the 911 call made from her home. However, per medical privacy laws, any personal medical info (including information about prescription drugs) will be edited out.
Moore' rep announced on Tuesday that the actress would be "seeking professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health." Moore and Kutcher announced their separation in November, after two years of dating and six years of marriage.
