The longtime friends and former That '70s Show costars were spotted spending some quality time together during a three-day escape to the coastal town of Carpenteria, Calif. According to People, they drove up to Carpenteria together on Thursday. On Friday, they were seen eating sushi and buying flowers and fruit from a roadside stand. They kept out of the public eye all day Saturday (yep, a little private time), and then emerged on Sunday to grab coffee before driving back to L.A. together.
Neither Kunis' nor Kutcher's rep had anything to say about the mini-vacation -- but someone close to the actors seems to think this was more than a friendly jaunt.
"He was so in love with her for a while when they worked together. He thought she was a goddess, was always talking about how beautiful she is," a source tells People. "But she was with Macaulay [Culkin] for a lot of that time and also just generally gave off a not interested vibe. It never happened, but I'm not surprised by this -- at all."
But another source seems to think that there's nothing more to the friendship than meets the eye.
"He always talked about Mila like a little sister," the source says. "They're definitely close pals and have been. I think if anything she's a good time for him. But he's not looking for anything serious."
Relationship rumors were sparked last week when Kutcher and Kunis were spotted furniture shopping and grabbing dinner together in Los Angeles. Kunis' representative, however, was quick to deny the relationship rumors.
"They have been friends for years and met up for dinner with a group of friends," the rep told People.
Of course it's entirely possible that Ashton and Mila's getaway was strictly platonic, but consider us skeptical. Kunis, 28, and Kutcher, 34, are both on the rebound after the end of very long relationships (at least by Hollywood's standards), and it probably feels nice to have the freedom to get a chance to hook up with someone they've known -- and potentially been interested in -- for more than a decade.
