Ever Wonder How Fast an Elite Marathoner Can Run? Here's an Idea

This is what fast looks like

While most runners dream about just making it through The New York City Marathon, elite runners strive for speed and record-breaking times. To show just how fast those runners really go, Asics is touring New York City with a one-speed treadmill set to elite marathoner Ryan Hall’s pace -- what amounts to 12 mph or a 4:46-minute mile.

Participants are strapped into a harness and dared to run as long as they can. Of the 500 who’ve participated since its launch last week, nobody has made it past 8 minutes.

Now imagine doing this for 26.2 miles!
