This past weekend, Jesse James announced his intentions to move to Austin, Tex. There's only one problem: Austin doesn't want him! Residents of the Southern city -- a longtime home of James' estranged wife Sandra Bullock -- are allegedly worried that Sandy will leave as soon as Jesse arrives. And since the Oscar winner is considered a beloved local, the townsfolk are reportedly all set to tar and father Jesse James and ride him out on a rail (or the Austin equivalent, which is probably, like, refusing to serve him coffee).
Recently, Popeater interviewed several locals, who agreed that "anyone with loyalty to Texas and Austin" would "riot" if James tried to make Bullock's hometown his own.
Why's he so determined to move there, anyway? The official word is that he wants Bullock to remain close to his kids, which suggests that it's a mutual decision. But a quote from a friend of Bullock's suggests a different story. "Of all the towns in America, he had to pick the one place that Sandra loves?" the source vented to Popeater. "He knows that Austin is her home, the one place in the world where Sandy can be 'Sandy' rather than 'Sandra Bullock, the Movie Star.' When is this fool going to stop hurting her?"
So it sounds like one of two things is happening here: a) Jesse James is going out of his way to maintain a good relationship with his family and ex-wife, or b) Jesse James is a relentless stalker wtih relocation funds, who won't let Sandra Bullock move on. If it's the former, then good on him. If it's the latter, then Bullock may end up moving permanently to her recently purchased house in New Orleans (the town she already considers "home" to adopted baby Louis). But since she already owns a restaurant and a floral shop in Austin, we doubt she's ready to pack up and move away for good, just like that. Sandra clearly has all the power in the relationship at this point, so we think she should take the opportunity to lay down the law, and tell James exactly what her boundaries are. And if he doesn't play nice, she can always turn the whole city of Austin against him. Sounds like it wouldn't be too hard.
