Minimize Your Salt Intake

Between the heat and the fact that you’re preggo, you’re probably feeling less than svelte. Eating salty foods can make swelling even worse, so read labels and avoid prepared foods with high sodium, and think twice about reaching for the salt shaker at mealtimes. Also, if you notice sudden swelling in your hands and face, call your OB/GYN, since that’s a sign of preeclampsia.
