Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and we've got love on the brain! Got a baby name to pick? Shake up your short list with these swoony, sweetie baby names inspired by the holiday of love!

Get inspired by your own love story
“Reach back into your romantic past as a couple to find creative names,” says Amanda Barden, author of Baby Names Made Easy: The Complete Reverse-Dictionary of Baby Names. “Pay homage to the people and places that brought you together: the name of the church where you got married, the name of the person who introduced you, the name of the restaurant where you went on your first date, the name of the flower the groom wore in his boutonniere. The possibilities are endless!” (If I followed that advice, my baby names would be Demetrios, Susie, Carmelita and Lily. Not bad!)

Get inspired by love itself!
Thaddeus, which means “heart” in Aramaic; Neha, which means “affection” in Hindi; Adonis and Belle for “beautiful”; and of course, Romeo and Juliet.

Or think about names related to the actual holiday, like Valentine or Valentina, which was Salma Hayek's choice for her daughter. (St. Valentine was a martyred priest who secretly married lovers against the decree of the emperor in third century Rome.) Or consider Charles, in honor of the duke who wrote the first valentine to his wife in 1415.
