Your Baby's 31st Week of Life

What's Happening with Your Baby

Your baby is probably very close to sitting all on her own. This is a major achievement. Allow your little one the opportunity to perfect this newly acquired skill. Sit on the floor to play games and talk with her. Your baby can also get on her hands and knees in a crawling position. Place an enticing toy in front of her to encourage her to move forward.

Taking Care of Yourself

As your baby becomes more mobile, you may want to take some steps to provide for her entertainment and at the same time allow you to complete a task. Stock a low kitchen cabinet or drawer with safe objects, such as plastic bowls, plastic spoons and cups, and pots and pans. Be sure that this area is away from where you cook, but close enough so you can keep a constant eye on your little one. Your baby will be thrilled to stack bowls one on top of another and to bang noisily on your pans with a spoon while you work nearby.
