Play Round and Round the Garden with your baby this week. Face her toward you and say "Round and round the garden," while gently circling your baby's belly button with your finger: Say, "Runs the teddy bear," and widen the circle with your finger: "One step, two steps," and walk your fingers up your baby's chest: "Tickle her under there" and gently tickle your baby under the chin, watching for her smiles and giggles that are sure to follow.
As your baby becomes more mobile, she will be able to act on his curiosity. Because she doesn't know better, her travels will take her to all parts of the house. Plants are definitely tempting. Be sure to keep your little one away from any plants that may be poisonous. According to the National Safe Kids Campaign, the following are several of the common poisonous plants. When in doubt, check to make sure your plants are not among those harmful to your baby.
