Your Baby's 37th Week of Life

What's Happening with Your Baby

If you've tried to take a toy away from your baby lately when she doesn't want you to, you've probably been met with a fiercely negative reaction. Although somewhat unnerving to parents, this is a step forward in your baby's ability to communicate with you. When you must remove a toy from your baby or your baby from a situation, and she's unwilling, try distracting her with another object or venue.

Taking Care of Yourself

Set aside some time for something totally frivolous this week -- something that you really enjoy and doesn't have a purpose. An ideal time is your baby's naptime -- just set aside those household chores for a bit. If you love to read, curl up with your book. If you like to see your nails painted, pick out your favorite color, prop up your feet and give yourself a manicure. If you are fulfilled digging in the dirt, carry your baby monitor out to the garden and get dirty. Do whatever makes you happy.
