Put your baby into a baby carrier or into the stroller and get outside to take a walk. If the weather's bad, pop over to the mall and take your walk inside. The exercise will do you both some good, and your baby will take great joy out of watching the scenery pass by. Don't be concerned about exposing your baby to germs
In the United States, about 900,000 children have a blood-lead level that is of concern. High levels of lead in the blood are dangerous to both children and adults. In general, the older your home, the more likely it is to have lead-based paint. If your house was built before 1978 or if you are concerned about your child's lead exposure, have your child's blood tested, have your home tested by a professional and fix any potential hazards. Contact the National Lead Information Center (NLIC) for a list of professionals in your area. Now is the time to make sure that your house is lead-free.
