Put entertaining mitts on your baby's hands and watch her wiggle them. You can purchase mitts of all different sorts and of course you can also make your own. The new sound and touch sensations allow her to further expand her world. Use some socks and sew silly faces on them. You don't have to be a seamstress to make something that your baby will enjoy. When her hands get tired, move them to her feet.
Baby walkers account for more injuries than any other nursery product. Your baby could fall out of the walker, tip it over or fall down the stairs in it. A walker also allows your baby access to places where she could pull heavy objects or hot food on herself. A stationary activity center is a good alternative. Make sure you place it away from stairs, hot appliances, window blinds and drapery cords. And never leave your baby unattended, even in a stationary center.
