Make your baby her own picture book using a mini photo album, extra pictures you have and clippings from magazines. Include family members, other babies, favorite objects, animals and different shapes. As time goes by, you can change the pictures to reflect your baby's current interests. You can begin to develop name and face recognition with friends and family members by pointing to the pictures and saying their names.
The U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced its initial set of ratings for child safety seats based on their ease of use (June 2003).
Under NHTSA's new rating system, child safety seats -- including booster seats -- are given an overall ease-of-use rating of "A," "B" or "C."
You can access a list of current child safety seat ratings at the NHTSA Website. The ratings can also be obtained by calling the NHTSA Office of Communications and Consumer Information (202-366-9550) or by phoning NHTSA's toll-free Auto Safety Hotline (888-327-4236)
