Shortly after the world watched Ashley Hebert stomp on his heart, Ben Flajnik was spotted having a drink with admitted Bachelorette fan Jennifer Love Hewitt. At the time, Flajnik denied that he was dating anybody, tweeting that he was "far too busy" with his winery. But now that he's the new Bachelor, (premiering Monday, Jan. 2, at 8 p.m. on ABC) Flajnik is spilling some details about his get-together with Hewitt.
"She reached out and wanted to come to the winery, which she did," he tells USA Today. "We went out to dinner and just kind of chatted about life and the experience."
So it was a date! At least, it sounds like one. But here's where Flajnik gets a little cagey.
"She's a nice girl, but I wasn't -- it was right in the middle of the time when I was deciding to be the Bachelor," Flajnik admits. "When this is all said and done, ending up with a Hollywood celebrity is not something that I want."
We get it. Why commit to one beautiful lady when you could have 25 of them competing for you? Still, you'd think it would be a little tempting to date a celebrity -- at least enough to warrant a second date. As for Hewitt, we have to admire her chutzpah in making a play for Flajnik. When she tweeted after the Bachelorette finale that she was booking a flight to Sonoma, we didn't think she was serious!
In the same interview, Flajnik talks about the surprisingly revealing trailer for the his season of The Bachelor.
"So far, America has seen my bare butt and I have no problem with male nudity!" he boasts."When a beautiful woman asks you to go skinny-dipping on the beach, you don't say no. Granted there are cameras around, but it's a bare butt. It's not that big of a deal to me."
