Andy has narrowed the women down to the final four, and this week he heads to each of their hometowns. Will Tessa open up? And will Andy still like Bevin once he learns about his divorce? Read the recap now!
In Heaven with Bevin
When Andy arrives in Seattle, Bevin takes him to Nacomi (sp??) Falls. Admittedly, they are gorgeous. Andy of course wants to know if she used to hike down to the waterfall with her high school boyfriends. She said no... liar!! During a picnic, Bev drops the bomb that she was married and divorced as a teenager. Andy questions Bevin's commitment to relationships, but she seems to convince him that her past experience has made her more mature. In the end, Andy admits that her confession freaked him out because he really believes marriage is forever.
Meet the Parents #1
Bevin takes Andy to meet her dad, mom and stepmom. Bevin thought they all clicked, and Andy even said they "were his type of people." How much does Bevin look like her mother -- geez, if Andy wants to know what Bev will look like in 25 years or whatever, it's right there! During a heart-to-heart with her dad, Bevin cries, natch. I'm SO sick of this chick crying -- enough!!!!
A Day with Danielle
Danielle's dad definitely gave Andy the stern-father talking to. You can tell she's daddy's little girl, and her family wants to protect her after the death of her boyfriend in college. Danielle's sister said the one thing that makes her nervous is that Andy is still dating three other girls. Why do all these people keep bringing this up? Of COURSE he's going to be dating three other girls -- that's how the show works, people! But Danielle's dad wasn't all business. He invited Andy to come downstairs and play the drums with him. Andy even belly-danced with the woman of the family. Andy obviously won Danielle's dad over because he he was already calling her "Mrs. Lt. Andy Baldwin."
When Andy shows up in DC, the city is covered in snow. The two goof off and make a ginormous snowball. Tessa leaves Andy alone with her mother, father, sister and best friend, and they grilllll him. Andy gracefully avoided answering things like whether he pictured himself more in the city or the suburbs, etc. He does, however, tell Tessa's family that she's hesitant to open up to him. Over dinner, her family asks where they're going to go on the honeymoon, what Andy does, etc... While Andy and Tessa's dad were doing dishes, he asked why Tessa went on the show, and her dad said she just wanted to have fun. When he posed the same question to the women, they couldn't give him a straight answer either. So, Andy takes the question to Tessa, point blank. Despite his best efforts, Tessa still doesn't open up and tell him how she really feels, until he asks her what she really wants. Finally, she says she really wants to fall in love with him, and he tells her that he really wants to fall in love with him.
Don't Mess with Texas
Amber takes Andy to her classroom in Sugarland, Texas. Andy pretends to be a student and asks for a kiss. Then Amber's students come for a visit, and one little girl asks how Andy met Amber and if he like her. Of course, he said he did. After their classroom visit, Amber tells Andy about her rocky relationship with her family, and how he was going to meet her aunt instead. Unfortunately, her aunt had to cancel. But Andy says he still has a real sense of who Amber is.
Andy has always said Amber is very mature for 23, but when he met her roommate and had dinner at her apartment, he said he could definitely sense a sorority house like vibe. Luckily, Amber's aunt came through and saved the day by showing up. Andy asks her aunt if Amber is ready to settle down because he is, and her aunt tells him that she is. Amber is still freaked out that Andy didn't meet her family when he did get to meet the other girls' parents.
The Rose Ceremony
I love hometown date week because we get to skip all the drama that we usually have to see in the house, but this rose ceremony more than made up for the drama-free night. Tess was the first to get a rose. It's so obvious that Andy likes her more than anyone. Bevin received the second -- I guess that divorce thing didn't completely turn him off. But surprisingly, Danielle was the one to snag the last rose, not Amber. I really didn't see that one coming. Andy gave her a bunch of crap about her being too young for him. Seriously, it's seven years -- I'm with Amber on this one. Andy should go by maturity not a number. And Andy's line about his connection with Danielle being greater than the one he has with Amber is such BS. All he ever says about Danielle is how much he thinks of her as a friend.
I'm still rooting for Tessa at this point. Any Bevin fans out there? Anyone think I'm way off-base about how Andy feels about Danielle? Next week, the gang is going to Hawaii!
