Kim Kardashian nearly ruined it for everybody, but the TV wedding special is alive and well! The next couple to tie the knot on national television will be none other than Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum, who became engaged on the season 7 finale of The Bachelorette.
The couple will be walking down the aisle this December, more than a year after Rosenbaum popped the question. Though the dating show alums have been publicly engaged since August 2011, they seemed content with a long engagement.
"We are starting [wedding] planning and hoping to get married within a year," Hebert said this past March, adding, "I always thought it would be romantic to be pregnant and get married."
Hebert isn't pregnant (so far as we know!), but the couple felt the timing was right. The 27-year-old former Bachelorette has just graduated from dental school. And the couple recently moved into a home together in New Jersey, where Rosenbaum works as a construction manager.
Details of the wedding ceremony are being kept under wraps for now, but Hebert did offer one tantalizing tidbit to Us Weekly: "My dress will not be white!"
While Ashley and J.P. are busy with florists and caterers, J.P.'s Bachelorette rival Ben Flajnik is also reportedly planning a wedding. He and his Bachelor-winning fiancee, Courtney Robertson, may be saying "I do" in 2013. If they make it down the aisle, they'll be the first Bachelor-winning couple ever to get married. Hmm, that seems worthy of a TV special too...
