Barack Obama and Clint Eastwood Among GQ's Picks for Men of the Year

GQ

GQ has announced who will be gracing its Men of the Year,  issue and it's a pretty diverse group, if not entirely surprising.

Barack Obama, who was anointed  Leader of the Year, is the only one of the six honorees who is making his second consecutive appearance on the list.

Others on the list include: Clint Eastwood (for Badass of the Year) New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady (for Comeback of the Year);  and new Star Trek star, Chris Pine (for Breakout of the Year). The top-billed castmembers of The Hangover -- Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis -- were given the group honor of Funnymen of the Year.

Each of the honorees has had a pretty good year, which explains why they are included on the list. Brady recovered from a foot injury (and married Gisele Bundchen); in Gran Torino, 79-year-old Eastwood proved he can still be a leading man; Pine proved to hoards of Trekkies that a relative new kid on the block can do right by the name Captain Kirk; and, in large part due to its leading men, The Hangover attracted droves of fans of R-rated comedy.

Each winner (or winners) will grace a separate cover of GQ's Men of the Year issue, which hits newsstands on Nov. 24.
