The Prez Pals Around with Jay Leno

Making history is his thing.

Barack Obama sat down on the Tonight Show couch Thursday night, marking the first time a president in office has visited the show, and giving Jay Leno plenty to joke about.

The host called this "the most exciting show of my life," adding, "A lot of people were surprised that the president came to NBC. You'd think by this time, he'd be tired of big companies on the brink of disaster."

I have to say that I think President Obama may have been funnier than Jay -- or we just have the same sense of humor.

"I do think in Washington, it's a little bit like American Idol," Barack smiled. "But everybody is Simon Cowell."

The prez talked about the economy (we know it sucks), but entertained with stories about his kid's reactions to some of the perks -- like flying in all kinds of fancy planes and helicopters -- and the candy that comes with it.

"Our first time on Marine One and the Marines are saluting us as we board," Barack recalls, "And Sasha looks over and says, 'Are those Starbursts?' "

He's just so likable! Can't help it -- bad economy and all, I'm still crushing on our Commander in Chief.
