Bill O'Reilly is known for cutting off some of his guests during his show, The O'Reilly Factor. But apparently Barbara Walters doesn't think he deserves the same treatment.
Last week, O'Reilly stopped by The View and things got heated during a debate regarding Muslims and 9/11. O'Reilly stated that Muslims were to blame for American deaths, to which Whoopi Goldberg replied, "Bullsh*t!" Goldberg and co-host Joy Behar then stormed off stage.
After the ladies left, Walters addressed the audience. "I'm going to say something to all of you," she said. "You have just seen what should not happen. We should be able to have discussions without washing our hands and screaming and walking off stage. I love my colleagues. It should not have happened."
"It's very dramatic. People love train wrecks. People want us to do more of it because it's good for the ratings," she continued. "We are used to Bill O'Reilly. He loves this. He loves to pull your chain. He loves to get you angry. This is just what he wanted...I don't have to tell you the regard I have for you.... Having said that, I think it was the wrong thing to do."
Behar and Goldberg then got their chance to defend themselves. "We speak about standing up to bigotry, so I stood up," Behar said. Goldberg added that she "hit my saturation point."
So, what did the other View ladies have to say about the whole thing? Sherri Shepherd assured fans that despite rumors, the moment was not staged. She also thought O'Reilly "knew what he was doing" and says he even told her: "I'm really going to make your ratings."
