Barbie Basics Sparking Debate Among Parents

Check out the new Barbie Basics line: Doll No. 10 has been getting some flack for the cleavage she shows in a low-cut black dress (she's even been nicknamed "Busty Barbie").

The packaging states the basics line is intended for the adult collector -- other collectors' dolls include Mad Men and James Bond-inspired Barbies, which are hardly kiddie terrain. The adored doll has always been known for her couture, and this latest collection in which each model is dressed in a different black frock was even developed with the Council of Fashion Designers of America, with insiders like Isaac Mizrahi and Rachel Roy offering insight on the LBD (a staple in any woman's wardrobe).

But some parents are complaining that the new designer dolls are too sexy, and send the wrong message to little fashionistas who cannot resist anything Barbie (especially when it's only about $20 and available at toy stores). So what do you think: Is Barbie getting a little too grownup for parents' tastes, or merely keeping up with the stylish times?
