Beating the Heat When You're Pregnant

Keep it Simple
"Stay indoors in the air conditioning as much as possible. It seems so simple that it's silly, but it's true. And remember to drink lots of water, at least eight glasses a day."

Emotional Releases Can Keep You Cool In More Ways Than One "Since it is 105 degrees outside right now I guess I can talk about beating the heat! I have learned that cool showers help, also lots of cold drinks, and investing in a personal fan so the air conditioner doesn't explode trying to keep me cool. But the biggie that has helped me stay cool and cool-tempered is to have someone to talk to about the pregnancy--the Parent Soup message boards have helped me greatly in that regard. Getting to share your emotions without exploding to husbands or other family members is nice. If you aren't online and able to visit Parent Soup, there are also local groups of pregnant mothers that meet once a week to chat. I hope that this information helps."
