'Beautiful Creatures' (Feb. 14)

Short Story:
Ever been infatuated with a witch? That's the current plight of Ethan Wate (Alden Ehrenreich), who quickly falls for classmate Lena (Alice Englert) after realizing she is quite literally the girl of his dreams. But Lena's got an interesting secret: Her family is a clan of witches, and she only has until her 16th birthday before her powers are claimed for either good or evil. Yikes -- most teenagers just have to deal with acne.

What They're Saying:
"Beautiful Creatures is so outrageously florid, Bella and Edward's baroque courtship looks understated by comparison." -- New York Daily News

Good for Kids?
The key demographic for Beautiful Creatures is tweens and teens, who Common Sense Media say will be "eager to see the tale brought to life on the big screen." With mild violence and romantic themes throughout, the film is tame enough for young viewers.
