House Full of History



Located on the outskirts of Sharon Springs, N.Y., the Beekman mansion was built over the course of two years, from 1802 to 1804, for the family of prominent local businessman William Beekman. (More than 12 members of the Beekman clan are buried in a crypt on the property.)

"We thought it was a museum because it looked so perfect," recalls Brent of first seeing the property. "Then we saw a ‘for-sale' sign in the yard. The house itself was in good shape. The prior owners had done an amazing renovation, so we kind of lucked into that."
