Hunky winemaker Ben Flajnik may not have won the final rose from Ashley Hebert on The Bachelorette, but he may now have a chance to do his own picking and choosing if he is chosen as the next star of The Bachelor.
A source tells Us Weekly that the 28-year-old is the front-runner to get his shot at finding true love on the ABC reality show. Other candidates reportedly include Ames Brown and Ryan Park, who were also rejected by Hebert.
"Everyone wants (Ben) to find the woman of his dreams," an insider tells Us Weekly about Flajnik, whose father died in 2006. "He loved Ashley," says another source. And show host Chris Harrison weighed in with a strong recommendation: "Our fans would love to see him as the Bachelor. He'd be great."
Hebert, after a grueling experience with the manipulative player Bentley Williams, gave now-fiance J.P. Rosenbaum the final rose -- and broke an angry Flanjik's heart. "Ben would be really good -- but so would Ryan and Ames!" she tells Us Weekly about The Bachelor.
Last week, The Ghost Whisperer star Jennifer Love Hewitt was seen having drinks with Flajnik in San Francisco, sparking rumors that the two were dating. Flajnik, however, took to his Twitter feed to dispel the rumors. "Dear Rumor Mill, I am not dating anyone. Far too busy with work right now @evolvewines to even think about it. Go Giants. Out," he tweeted.
The possibility of Flajnik starring on The Bachelor might come as dismaying news to Hewitt, who's made it clear that she had a crush from afar on Flajnik. "Omg! Ben f except my final rose !!! I love that ring. Neil lane u rock!! Happy for Ashley.... Gotta book a flight to Sonoma !!!:):)," she tweeted after The Bachelorette finale.
