Sylvester Stallone is taking this career comeback thing very seriously: His next film as writer-director assembles what may be the most impressive action-movie cast of all time. Stallone, who put himself back in audience's good graces with 2006's Rocky Balboa and 2008's new Rambo, is breaking from sequels with his new project, The Expendables.
The announced cast members include:
Jet Li
Jason Statham
Bruce Willis
Dolph Lundgren
Mickey Rourke
Arnold Schwartzenegger
Steve Austin
And Sly himself (naturally).
It's hard to imagine a more impressive assemblage of biceps than that. But if you can wrap your brain around it, here are some of the actors who said "no" to the film:
Jean-Claude Van Damme
Wesley Snipes
50 Cent
Steven Seagal
Kurt Russell
The movie, about a team of mercenaries trying to overthrow a South African dictator, doesn't yet have a trailer. But there's already a fan site, where action fans are sharing news and pondering important questions about the film -- mainly, "Where the heck is Chuck Norris?"
