It’s almost the new year, and that means time for fresh perspective on everything — including the contents of our closets. 2013 had lots of trends to choose from, like crop tops, cutouts, lace and ‘90s revival pieces. If you're anything like us, you may already be more than happy to kiss some of those looks goodbye, but there are plenty, too, that you might gladly double down on in the new year.
See which of the year’s top trends we’d like to see die, and which ones we’re carrying into 2014 with pride, then tell us your take.
Stay or Go? Crop Tops
Steve Granitz/WireImage, Imeh Akpanudosen/Getty ImagesOK, we liked that this year's crop tops were more just a flash of waist or ribcage than a full bra to navel reveal as in years past. But honestly? Too much pressure. Pass.
Stay or Go? '90s Revival
Craig Barritt/Getty Images, Neil P. Mockford/FilmMagicYou know what? We were there the first time. Crushed velvet, Doc Martens and acid-washed denim can move it along for good now.
Stay or Go? Emerald Green
Jason Merritt/Getty Images, Jerod Harris/Getty Images for NCLRYes, we loved this bold jewel tone, but it's time to move over for 2014's new Pantone color of the year: Radiant Orchid (also known as purple).
Stay or Go? Over-the-Knee Boots
SAV/FilmMagic, Chelsea Lauren/WireImageSure, sometimes they're cute ... but they're also equally impractical.
Stay or Go? Cutouts

It was just way too much of a good thing this year, with sliced and diced dresses running rampant on the red carpets. And while they might look great on celebs, on most of us they're not exactly flattering.
Stay or Go? Ombré
Gregg DeGuire/WireImage, Chelsea Lauren/WireImageFrom fashion to beauty looks, ombré is one gorgeous trend we're not ready to part with.
Stay or Go? Nail Art
Chelsea Lauren/WireImage, David Livingston/Getty ImagesWe're still loving the nail art trend for letting us express our personal style in miniature.
Stay or Go? Lace
Anwar Hussein/WireImage, Paul Zimmerman/WireImageSo timeless, so elegant. As far as we're concerned, lace can stay around forever.
Stay or Go? Black and White
Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic, Jason Merritt/Getty ImagesThis bold classic combo will simply never go out of style.
Stay or Go? Stripes

From casual fun to red carpet dressing, stripes are so versatile, so wearable and so right for just about everyone.
