Where the Wild Things Are

Take a page from this Where the Wild Things Are birthday bash from Nikkiikkin, featured on The Party Wagon: Use details from the storybook to create your own wild rumpus!

The Decor: Fake fur and real wood accents help evoke the feeling of the forest in the book; cover a table with deep green fake fur (or fake grass) for a table runner. Gather tree branches to use as accents, and decorate walls with green construction- and tissue-paper leaves. Another easy decor element: Display a copy of the book!

The Party Favors: We can't get over these jaw-dropping "wild thing" cookies, made with fondant and royal icing details. (Use Wilton's grass tip #233 to create the fur.) Put in a 4-inch cell treat bag and seal with printed cardstock. Keep the wooded theme going by sending guests home with twig pencils.

The Cake: Nikki made a multi-tiered cake topped with a gorgeous marigold-colored fondant crown -- a detail you can make and add to whatever type of cake you bake (or buy!). Cake pops can be dipped in white candy melts and decorated with tiny fondant triangles placed around the pops as a crown.
