Cookie Monster makes an adorable birthday theme for your Sesame Street–loving son, but we're swooning over this imaginative twist to the idea that we saw on The Party Wagon: Pairing Cookie Monster with a milk-and-cookies theme. ("C" is for cookie, but it's also for cute!) The Cake: Because one treat isn't enough: Add a mini chocolate chip cookie to the mouth of a store-bought Cookie Monster cupcake, or make your own. (Wilton's tip 233 can help you create the look of Cookie's fur.) You can also bake a chocolate chip cookie in the shape of the number one and add to a full-sized Cookie Monster cake. The Food: What's on the menu? Milk and cookies, of course! Serve milk in chilled glasses or bottles that are dipped in chocolate sprinkles, and add blue and white striped straws. Set up a cookie buffet that includes all sorts of different kinds of cookies.
The Decor: Bright "Cookie Monster" blue, brown and white create a color scheme that's festive, and fitting for the theme. Make chocolate chip cookies out of construction paper to decorate walls; cover tables with plain white cloths and spruce up with a blue and white chevron-striped table runner. Add construction paper eyes and a mouth to bright blue tissue paper pom poms and you've got an instant Cookie Monster to hang from the ceiling.
