Maternity Jeans We Love

As any mama-to-be can tell you, owning a great pair of maternity jeans is a must. They'll keep you looking stylish (but comfy!) in those in-between weeks when nothing fits all the way to the final days before baby arrives. They'll even work beautifully in the fourth trimester -- and look much more polished than a pair of sweatpants. To help you find the best of the bunch, we asked a group of pregnant women to put some of the latest styles through the paces and report back on how they fared. Here are the results!

J Brand Denim Heritage Straight Leg Maternity Jean

Sizes: 25-32
Price: $198

Bottom Line: This straight-leg pair of jeans is on the pricier end, but you get what you pay for. (Kim Kardashian said in her Celeb Buzz blog "They are these super comfy maternity jeans with soft, stretchy side panels in the front and they are absolutely amazing!") Think super-soft denim, flattering back pockets, discrete side panels, and a low rise in front to accommodate a growing band and a higher rise in back for support and coverage. A classic medium wash and high heel-friendly 34-inch inseam make these a go-to option for nights out.

Good For: Evenings out; taller women with long legs; heel-lovers.

About Our Parent Tester: 5'2", petite

What Our Parent Tester Thought: "They were very flattering from the back; they don't look like maternity jeans from behind.  Because the panels are on the side pockets, you don't get that bunching around the lower waist -- it's a sexier fit. And the color was perfect."

"The front pockets are the panels, so there is no actual pocket, but the placement is great. The pockets on the butt are flattering."

"These jeans sit very low. You need to be conscious that your top is long enough to cover your baby bump. The panels are also cut pretty low and are visible. They blend in with the pockets, though, so they don’t look too bad."

"They were pretty comfortable for long stretches, but they did loosen up over the course of the day and I found myself pulling them up from time to time."

"This would be a special purchase for me. They are expensive, but they look expensive and the denim is super comfortable. The quality is there."
