'Nanny McPhee' and 'Nanny McPhee Returns'

As the snaggle-toothed government-issue nanny in 2005's hit Nanny McPhee, Emma Thompson's magical McPhee proved looks can be deceiving -- and she was totally transformed as she earned the love and respect of the Brown family. In Nanny McPhee Returns, out Friday, Thompson -- who also wrote the screenplays for both films, based on the Nurse Matilda series by writer Christianna McBrand -- takes on another troubled clan, this time it's Maggie Gyllenhaal's war-torn brood, who are out to save the family farm from the clutches their evil uncle.
