When Bravo's The Real Housewives of New York City premiered in 2008, Bethenny Frankel wasn't even a wife. But this affluent, natural-foods chef/author steamrolled her way onto the series anyway -- through the sheer force of her larger than life personality. And there's no doubt that Bravo was happy to have her. Her drama-fueled interactions with the other women -- especially former BFF Jill Zarin -- provided the show's biggest sparks.
Two years later, Frankel is married. And now that she's actually a wife, Bravo's given her a big fat show all to herself. Bethenny Getting Married? (which premieres June 10 at 10 p.m. ET) chronicles her life while planning her March 2010 wedding to then-fiance Jason Hoppy; the May 8 birth of their daughter, Bryn Hoppy; and her new life holding up her end of a high-powered Manhattan marriage.
And the 39-year-old Frankel gives an intimate glance into her life by letting the camera follow her during her visits with a psychologist. "It was actually my idea to do therapy on the show, because I need therapy," she recently told reporters during a recent interview. "This is a true depiction of my life -- being pregnant while engaged, while planning a wedding, while trying to run a business, while shooting a show, while doing a book tour. It's not a bad thing to lock the door before you get robbed, going to therapy before you have a breakdown."
Frankel also predicts that if you're not a fan of The Real Housewives, "my show is so refreshing compared to that." Spoken like a true blunt woman.
Do you think Bethenny Frankel is charismatic enough to carry her own reality show?
