"I would like a daytime talk show," reality star Bethenny Frankel told Popeater in February. "Most of my business wishes come true," she added. Less than two months later, that one's already come to fruition.
According to RumorFix, Frankel's dreamed-about talk show is already in development, and is being backed by Telepictures, the production company behind The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Tyra.
Frankel already headlines her own Bravo show, Bethenny Ever After, which chronicles her daily life with her new husband, Jason Hoppy, since leaving The Real Housewives of New York. The show just got renewed for a third season.
So why does Frankel need another one? "My TV show communicates what I'm doing," she said of Bethenny Ever After. "But it isn't really a dialogue or a conversation (with my fans)."
It's actually not a surprising choice for Frankel, who cannily chronicled her recent stint on ABC's Skating With the Stars on Bethenny Ever After. (Oh, the cross-promotional synergy of it! TV execs must love this woman.) This is one former Housewife who always dreamed big: She's been an overachiever since we first saw her on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart in 2005. TV cameras are second nature to her, and her quick wit and camera-friendly looks will serve her well in a talk-show setting. Of course, she'll need to be on her game: Many have tried and failed to entertain the public this way, and there are a lot of contenders vying to fill the Oprah void right now, including Katie Couric and Ricki Lake.
But as Frankel says, most of her business wishes come true. No doubt her next wish involves big ratings for her new show.
