New mom Bethenny Frankel echoed the sentiment that many new parents feel -- "This is the new me now" -- as she introduced her newborn daughter, Bryn Casey Hoppy, to the world. The author/chef/reality star (Bravo's The Real Housewives of New York City) gave birth to Bryn on May 8th and recalls to People magazine what it's like starting a new life with her daughter at the center of it.
Frankel, 39, along with new husband Jason Hoppy, began to head to the hospital after her water broke five weeks before her due date. Frankel recalls, "All I wanted was a bagel and the doctor (told me) I couldn’t eat. And for two days, I couldn’t.”
She was in labor for 30 hours, but it was worth the wait, as Frankel says, "She came out like a little doll. It was amazing." The teeny tiny Bryn (born at 4 lbs, 11 oz.) had to stay in the NICU for a time, but the new parents never left her side. "We couldn’t stop staring at her," Frankel admits.
Bryn is named after Jason Hoppy's late brother who died in a car crash 19 years ago ("Jason’s mom was hysterical, crying," Frankel recalls when they revealed the name) -- and is home now with her happy, doting parents. "Jason is the burper and diaper changer,” she reveals, “He loves it when she goes to the bathroom because he has a project."
Franklin calls her daughter "such a good baby" and goes on to say, "We’re so thankful and lucky to have a healthy baby."
