On Staying Fit, Eating Right, Baby Food and Swollen Body Parts
iVillage: How did you stay fit during pregnancy?
BF: I changed my eating because I was eating more. Life is still a bank account when you're pregnant—it's about checks and balances. I just maintain and do a little bit here and there—which if you do your whole entire life you will be fine, pregnant or not.
iVillage: What were you eating while you were pregnant?
BF: No two days were the same. You have to listen to what's going on that day. Some days you're going to be hungrier than others. I did eat high volume food and desserts, but in moderation.
iVillage: You're a natural food chef—are you buying baby food or making it at home?
BF: If there are organic baby foods, I'll buy them. I'm not particularly obsessive with myself, so I don't think I'll be obsessive with my kid.
iVillage: Did you have any tricks for swollen body parts?
BF: I went to a restaurant and told the waiter to steam asparagus, then let me drink the steamed water with lemon in it. Cucumbers are good, too. I used frozen packs of vegetables as ice packs on my face. And, it's always good to put your feet up.
