Betty White Celebrates Her 90th Birthday with a Televised Bash!

The Golden Girl will mark her Jan. 17 birthday with a star-studded shindig airing Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC

Once again, Betty White is being lavished with media attention. Her latest achievement? Turning 90.

"Don't give me any credit," she told reporters at the recent Television Critics Association press tour. "I didn't do anything to get to be 90. It just happened."

Still, NBC is commemorating Betty's Jan. 17 birthday with a star-studded, televised shindig, Betty White's 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America's Golden Girl (Jan. 16, 8 p.m. ET). And the network has tapped some of its heavy hitters -- stars like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Joel McHale -- to help her celebrate.

Also paying tribute and/or performing are old pals from the Mary Tyler Moore Show (including Moore herself); her current Hot in Cleveland costars; the cast of her new show, Off Your Rockers (which premieres at 9:30 p.m. ET, immediately following the birthday bash); and some showbiz friends like William Shatner, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Morgan Freeman, Ellen DeGeneres and Jay Leno.

There will be musical performances, personal tributes and, no doubt, lots of age-related gags, which have become the forte of this irrepressible actress. She'll also reminisce about some of the fondest moments and memories of her long career. Watch a preview of the show below!

"She just can do everything," Poehler told The Examiner in an interview before the taping of the special. "(During White's SNL hosting gig), she had nerves of steel, she knew how to deliver every joke, and she had perfect timing."

And not only can she do everything, she appears to be trying to do so. She now has not one, but two TV shows on the air: TV Land's Hot in Cleveland and NBC's Off Their Rockers (a reality show in which White leads a team of mischievous senior citizens who pull pranks on unassuming young people). She recently released her latest book, Betty & Friends. And next month, she's up for a Grammy -- yes, a Grammy! -- for best spoken word album, for If You Ask Me (And Of Course You Won't).

What's next, a run for President? Don't laugh -- diehard fans have already launched a campaign to try to make that happen!
